CTC Launches Social Groups

CTC is launching their long-awaited social groups this Spring. The groups will focus on teaching children the essential skills that they need to make and keep friendships, socialize in group situations (i.e. birthday party, playground, classroom), read social cues (i.e. body language and emotions), and many more essential skills. The groups will be lead by licensed therapists. Each child will be individually assessed and placed in a group based on ability, need, and general age. The groups will incorporate peers, social homework, and community outings. We will offer several groups for all ages and abilities. The first session will be for elementary aged children and held at CTC on Thursdays at 3:30. The session will be 8-weeks long and begin on 5/29/08 (with no class on 6/12/08). Hour-long individual assessments will be scheduled on May 15th and 22nd. The first session will be offered at a very low price of $200 thanks to a grant from the RCA Community Fund of the Sacramento Region Foundation.
