The clinic at CTC is always full on Tuesdays! That’s because we meet weekly for our staff meeting every Tuesday. This week, we discussed our work-related goals for 2023. We’re always finding ways that we can improve, and we have some good goals set for the new year that include opportunities for educational growth, collaboration, and most importantly… fun and laughter! ✨Its been good, 2022! ✨ We hope you’ll enjoy this little recap of our year here at CTC! Here are some accomplishments we’re proud to share:
⭐️ We provided 167 FREE developmental play groups, with 985 children attending.
⭐️ We served 808 children in our therapy programs, with 31,650 hours of direct therapy scheduled.
⭐️For the 20th year in a row, we increased the amount of new children served, with 428 new referrals. We are thankful for all that 2022 brought us, and we look forward to all that 2023 will bring! We hope you have a very Happy New Year, from our family, to yours!

Halloween night can be exciting, scary, and even o

Halloween night can be exciting, scary, and even overwhelming for children. Here are a few speech and language tips to help make trick-or-treating a sweeter experience 👻 🎃 Communication Skills:
Introduce common words and phrases to your child so they are able to communicate their wants and needs. You can also practice these phrases on your child’s augmentative & alternative communication (AAC) device or introduce sign language. 🎃 Read a book:
Add some Halloween books to the fun of getting ready! Reading a Halloween story or creating a social story can help prepare your child for what will happen on Halloween night. 🎃 AAC Symbols:
If your child uses AAC, add any Halloween related symbols they may need access to that night to communicate. 🎃 Practice:
Practicing trick-or-treating at home or around your neighborhood will allow your child to become familiar with the routine so it doesn’t feel overwhelming on Halloween night. Most importantly, have fun! 🧡
